Power of Your Love

by: Don Moen

Lord I come to You
Let my heart be changed, renewed
Flowing from the grace
That i have found in You
And Lord I have come to know
The weakenesses I see in me
Will be stripped away
By the power of Your love

Chorus:

Hold me close
Let Your love surround me
Bring me near
Draw me to Your side
And as I wait
I will rise up like the eagle
And I will soar with You
Your Spirit leads me on
In the power of Your love

Lord unveil my eyes
Let me see You face to face
The knowledge of Your love
As You live in me
And Lord renew my mind
As Your will unfolds in my life
In living every day
By the power of Your love

(repeat chorus twice)
And I will soar with You
Your Spirit leads me on
In the power of Your love

Fearfully Anxious
Posted at 12:26 AM

I really dunno how and why it happened. I had a short anxiety episode awhile ago. Anxiety nga, so unknown ang source. It's like an impending sense of doom...parang ha-heart attakin ba?. I coudn't think straight for some time but the feeling disappeared as fast as it appeared. Kinabahan ako ng sobra. Together with the sinking feeling was a throbbing headache that seethed it's way through my nerves. It was like something was really going to happen but you don't know what it is. Hmm, I wonder what really that was. Was it because I did not have a good night's sleep last night? Was it because I was starving early during the shift? Was it hypoglycemia? I really dunno and I hope it will not happen again. Hay. Hayayayay!

***

The death of a patient makes us realize how short your life can be. One day you're okay, the next day your not. You'll be either intubated with a breathing tube down your throat, having a difficult time breathing or be operated on because of multiple injuries and rendered invalid. Worst is that you're dead after a long fight to survive. Life is too short. We must make good use of it. Who knows, 2012 might be the last year of the earth (like in the movie).

New Moon, New Planner
Posted at 10:20 PM in Movie Marathon, Reality bytes, Thinking Aloud

Since JCIA week is over, Leah, Paul and I ventured into the world of late night (actually early morning) movie watching once again. We watched New Moon after last night's duty even if we'll still be on duty the next day. New Moon was great and mushy! Touched me big time but it didn't make me cry naman. It's not too off from the book and most probably if you haven't read the book, you'll think that it's one great hell of a movie.

Anyway, I got the Starbucks 2010 Planner already (Thanks to Leigh, Alvin, Paul and Leah). Wohoo, I never thought that I would redeem it this early given that it just started about three weeks ago. The planner's a little bigger than that of 2009's but the great thing about the new one is that it has privilege coupons at the back like the 2006 planner. Hurray for coffee addicts! Hurray for Starbucks!

On a sadder note, our rabbit just died. Huhu, he's gonna be 2 years old this coming January pa naman.

OMU update! J94G decided to help The Creator.
Posted at 04:47 PM in 2009, Once More United

If there's one thing that I can be thankful about Mr. Nualan, that would be introducing me to J94G.

J94G...

  • is The Creator's co-worker at her NORMAL occupation. Mr. Nualan has this habit of patrolling the floor to check on employees who dawdle at work and saw The Creator scribbling -- no, doodling... NO! sketching OMU characters on a blank sheet of paper which happened to be an important sheet of paper. Instead of a verbal warning, the Creator found herself facing J94G .
  • has a lot of refreshingly great ideas using Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc. which will rival [or overthrow] the one who used to reside in the Creator's heart. Right there and then, the Creator knew he'll be of great help with the revamping IF and ONLY IF he decided to help.
  • used to work for Toei. [OMU Creator: why did you resign? waiiiii D":] J94G worked there as a tracer(?), lived like a vampire with Jap animators, learned techniques and got his hand veined because of the tracework he has to do...every single day...

He's going to help. He just borrowed my back-up copy in a CD and is on his way to transforming OMU to Culture Crash form. The Creator eagerly waits for the results. ^____^

Noah's Ark
Posted at 01:52 PM in Movie Marathon

I watched 2012 last night with some of my former 6A co-staff, Leah, JanLi, Paul, Anna, Tom and Dr. Pasayan. We arrived at Eastwood Cinemas around 12:00am and was afraid at first that we'll not be accommodated. The film should have started around 11:50 but it did not until about 12:20am. It was the last screening for the day and we were so lucky that we made it to the cinema. 2012 was like a combination of The Day After Tomorrow, Apocalypse, Armageddon and Bible's Noah's Ark rolled into one--call it a glorified Noah's Ark film. The film was really about the earth's core temperature rising due to the drastic changes of the sun's activities. It was tragic and mind boggling. One might think that it may really happen in the future. Hehe, but the idea of building gigantic high-tech "arks" in mainland China is a little farfetched. Nevertheless the CGI's were superb. Imagine the US and other continents breaking up to pieces with bridges collapsing and building toppling down while people scream for their lives. It's quite difficult summing up the film so I got this from Wikipedia:

In 2009, American geologist Adrian Helmsley travels to India to meet his friend Satnam, who has discovered that neutrinos from a massive solar flare are acting as microwaves and causing the temperature of the Earth's core to increase rapidly. Adrian informs White House Chief of Staff Carl Anheuser and US President Thomas Wilson that this will instigate a chain of events that will bring about the end of the world. At the G8 summit in 2010, other heads of state and heads of government are made aware of the situation. They collaborate to begin a secret project intended to ensure the continuity of human life, strategically choosing 400,000 people for admission on a series of gigantic ships to be constructed in the Himalayas. To help fund the venture, additional individuals are allowed to purchase tickets for one billion euros apiece.

In 2012, Jackson Curtis is a writer in Los Angeles who works part-time as a limousine driver for Russian billionaire Yuri Karpov. Jackson's ex-wife Kate and their children Noah and Lily live with her new boyfriend, plastic surgeon and amateur pilot Gordon Silberman. Jackson takes Noah and Lily on a camping trip to Yellowstone National Park, where they meet Charlie Frost, a conspiracy theorist living as a hermit and hosting his own radio show live from the park. Charlie supports a theory that suggests the Mayans predicted the world would come to an end in 2012, and claims he has knowledge of the secret "space ship" project and possesses a map of the ships' location. The family returns home as cracks begin to develop along the San Andreas Fault in California and earthquakes occur in the San Francisco Bay area. Jackson grows suspicious and rents a private plane to rescue his family. He collects his family and Gordon when the Earth's crust displacement begins and they escape Los Angeles as it collapses into the Pacific Ocean.

As millions begin dying in apocalyptic earthquakes worldwide, the group flies to Yellowstone to retrieve Charlie's map. The group narrowly escapes as the Yellowstone Caldera erupts. Charlie, who stayed behind to make a live broadcast of the eruption, is killed by the blast. Realizing the ships are in China, the group lands in Las Vegas, where they meet Yuri, his twin sons, girlfriend Tamara, and pilot Sasha. They join the group and secure an Antonov An-225 to head across the Pacific. Also bound for the ships aboard Air Force One are Anheuser, Adrian, and First Daughter Laura Wilson. President Wilson chose to remain in Washington D.C., and is soon killed by a tsunami that sends the USS John F. Kennedy crashing into the White House. With the Vice President dead and the Speaker of the House missing, Anheuser appoints himself acting Commander-in-Chief.

Upon arriving in China in a crash-landing that kills Sasha, Yuri and his two sons are taken to the ships, stranding the Curtis family, Gordon, and Tamara, all of whom do not possess tickets. Jackson and the group witness helicopters carrying multiple animals to the ships' location which Jackson later reconciles as "arks". After leaving the crash site the abandoned group is picked up by Nima, a Buddhist monk. Together, they begin sneaking onto an ark through its hydraulics chamber with the help of Nima's brother Tenzin, a welder for the ark project. In his last moments, Satnam calls Adrian to inform him that a tsunami is engulfing India and heading towards the arks. Learning of this, Anheuser orders the arks be sealed, trapping thousands outside. Adrian manages to convince the other G8 leaders to let the remaining people on board. As the ark's tailgate is lowered and raised, Yuri falls to his death getting his two sons on in time, and both Gordon and a large electrical power drill fall in between the gears. Gordon is killed, and the lodged drill prevents the gate from closing, rendering the ship unable to start its engines. The tsunami arrives and begins to flood the ark, drowning Tamara and setting the ark helplessly adrift. Jackson and Noah work together to free the drill and its cable from the closing mechanism. The gate closes and the crew regains control of the ark, preventing a fatal collision with Mount Everest.

When the floodwater from the worldwide tsunamis eventually recedes, satellite data shows that Africa rose in relation to sea level, and its Drakensberg mountains are now the highest on the planet. As three arks set sail for the Cape of Good Hope, Jackson reconciles with his family, and Adrian starts a relationship with Laura. The movie ends with a view of the Earth revealing a geographically different African continent as well as a changed Asia.

  • John Cusack as Jackson Curtis, a science fiction book writer who occasionally works as a limousine driver

He had a family back on land, who also had perished during an earthquake.
  • Jimi Mistry as Satnam, a scientist who helps discover the events that are to come in India.
  • Woody Harrelson as Charlie Frost,[21] a conspiracy theorist disguised as Yellowstone hermit who prophesies the end of the world and is considered crazy by others. Harrelson compared his character to the mythological Greek figure Cassandra, whose predictions were dismissed

I give this film a 4/5 stars for it's cinematograpy and a 3/5 stars for plot's originality.

advance happy birthday eHmG19
Posted at 09:54 PM

I have a picture,
Pinned to my wall.
An image of you and of me and we're laughing and loving it all.
But look at our life now.
We're tattered and torn.
We fuss and we fight and lay in the tears we cry until dawn.

Hold me now, warm my heart.
Stay with me, let loving start (let loving start)

You say I'm a dreamer, we're two of a kind.
Both of us searching for some perfect world we know we'll never find.
Perhaps I should leave here, yeah yeah go far away.
But you know there's no where I'd rather be than with you here today

Hold me now, warm my heart.
Stay with me, let loving start (let loving start)

You ask if I love you, well what can I say?
You know I do and if this is just one of those games that we play.
So I'll sing you a new song.
Please don't cry anymore.
ANd then I'll ask you forgiveness though I don't really know what im asking for...

wayne wonder's hold me now

Bookaholics Anonymous
Posted at 09:01 PM in Bookshelves

I have the Percy Jackson books already! Books 1-4 pa nga lamang because the 5th book is still on hardbound and I don't like to buy it yet because it's expensive.  Natuwa nanaman ang ID ko at natalo nanaman ang aking SUPEREGO! Weakness ko talaga ang books. I get really overwhelmed when I'm in bookstores and I can't fathom why. Dati, before I took my NCLEX-RN, I went gaga over buying nursing books and now that I've passed the exam I'm enthralled by novels naman particularly of the fantasy type (but of course I'd still love Grisham). Ang dami ko nang books in line to be read. I buy the books ahead of time fearing that they might be out of circulation in the future. Hay, saya!
